Based in Freehold, New Jersey, Heidi DeFabritus has served as a substitute teacher with Monroe Township Schools since 2023. In addition to adhering to teachers’ curricula and ensuring student safety, Heidi DeFabritus guides students through different parts of the school day, from homework collection to school lunch. She has completed lockdown and fire drill training.
Before joining Monroe Township Schools as a substitute teacher, Heidi DeFabritus served the district as a paraprofessional. She primarily functioned as a teacher’s assistant, with responsibilities ranging from test preparation with students to helping students safely get off buses in the morning and board buses after the school day.
Between 2016 and 2020, Heidi DeFabritus worked for The Strand Theater in Lakewood as the not-for-profit theater’s fundraising chair. She oversaw various marketing and fundraising duties during her time in this position, including organization and oversight of the theater’s silent auction. She also planned annual dinner and dancing events. She was a Maryland Distinguished Arts Scholar at Towson University, where she studied mass communication and music performance.
